First Hair Cut!
The last few times I had Brennus anywhere, people have asked, "What's her name?" or "How old is she?". So, I decided it was time for a hair cut, and since Grandma did Loudon's first haircut, it seemed only fitting that she do Brennus'. So, here are the before, during and after shots. What a handsome boy!

Loudon the little leprechaun!
We discovered a play-group in Sydney Mines and went to check it out this morning. Both boys liked it and Loudon made this leprechaun head-band. We'll go again next week.
I'll have to spend some time this week teaching Loudon about St. Paddy's Day. He didn't know what a leprachaun was!

Visiting Cape Breton!
Hi All,
Well, here we are in Cape Breton. We arrived yesterday (Sunday) at 5:30pm. The drive was uneventful and Brennus was fantastic even though he only napped for about 20 minutes right after we left. Loudon was great too! Grandma and Poppy were happy to see us. Darrin stayed long enough to have supper and unpack the van, before returning to the other island. He hit a lot of black ice on his return but made it back safe and sound. We decided this would be a good time to visit as Grandma and my neices, Kayla and Marley, are off of school for the March break. We'll have plenty of company and are planning to go skating, swimming and to a Matinee.
Kayla got her driver's liscence today- Congrats Kayla!!
I'll be posting some pictures soon.

Happy Hammering!!
OK everyone, here's an activity suggestion that will keep your kids entertained. You'll need half of a cabbage, hammer and nails or screwdriver and screws. Make sure the nails and screws are not long enough to go through the cabbage and into your table! Loudon will do this for hours and hours with much satisfaction. Be prepared to sacrifice the nails and screws or you'll have to dig them out!! Happy Hammering!

paper mache
Loudon and I are working on some paper mache bowls- or as he calls it- paper machine! This is us doing our second layer. On the 1st attempt, I though-he's not ready- but he really had a lot of fun the second time and did quite well. I dyed the flour and water mixture blue to make it fun. We'll build up a few more layers before we paint them. I know I had a lot of fun. I'll be sure to post his finished piece.

While I was at work yesterday Darrin and Loudon had fun making a snowman and daddy came up with a clever addition to this old tradition- painting it! What a great idea!
We've had 3 extremely different winters here so far, and it's been rare to have good 'snowman' snow, so I'm glad Loudon got a couple of chances to make them this winter.
